Remote Work Abroad,
Made Practical

First-hand Blueprints for working and studying far from home, one destination at a time.

Core Nomadic is not a travel database or a list of tips pulled off the internet. It is a small set of deep, honest Blueprints for working and studying remotely abroad, and each one is written by us after we actually lived and worked there. Real costs, real places, what worked and what we would do differently. Siargao and Chiang Mai are both ready to read.

The story behind the Blueprints

The Blueprints are public and free. We wrote our own master's thesis on the road, from Siargao and Chiang Mai among others, and saw how hard it was to find concrete information on combining remote work with a bigger writing project. So we research each destination from scratch and gather what we learn here.

Documented productivity
We tested workspaces, cafés and coworking for you.
Real numbers
Actual costs from what we spent, not a vague range.
All the practical stuff in one place
Visa, budget, transport and recommendations, all in one place.
Written by us
Not generic tourist guides, we lived and worked there ourselves.

Writing a thesis or big project abroad

This is the part we know best. We wrote our own master's thesis on the road, and it works if you plan it like a job rather than a holiday. We put what we learned into its own guide, so you can protect your deep-work hours and still get out to surf.

Meet the team behind Core Nomadic

We're Rasmus and Victoria. This didn't start as a holiday, but as a bet with ourselves, to write our master's thesis remotely, from Siargao and later from Chiang Mai. What could have been a stressful few months at home in Denmark became the start of Core Nomadic instead.

Away from the everyday noise, the deep focus actually showed up. We proved to ourselves that you don't have to choose between a career and an adventure. You can have both.

Most guides are written for tourists with seven holiday days. Ours are for you, if you want to move your office to the tropics. We do the groundwork, so you can skip straight to the good part.

Core Nomadic is a growing set of honest, practical Blueprints for working remotely, studying or writing a thesis on a longer stay abroad. Each destination gets its own deep guide.

They are for remote workers testing a workation, students and academics writing abroad, and anyone planning a month or more somewhere new who wants the real logistics, not a highlight reel. It is free, there is no login, and you are welcome to share the link.

"Remember to look up from the screen once in a while. Take the spontaneous trip, say yes to the local recommendation, take the time to talk to the people you meet along the way. That's where the magic happens."
